We are excited to advise that our sauna facility has now re-opened as the heater unit has now been replaced after it was previously damaged due to improper use.
As we reopen the sauna, it is important to revisit some essential guidelines to ensure your comfort and, most importantly, your safety.
Whether you are a seasoned sauna enthusiast or a newcomer eager to try this revitalising tradition, we kindly ask you to read through the following information about how a dry sauna operates and some fundamental rules to observe during your visit.
How the Dry Sauna Works
A dry sauna is designed to promote sweating, relaxation, and a sense of well-being. The heat in a dry sauna is generated by a specialised electric heater, which warms up a set of sauna stones. Unlike steam rooms or wet saunas, the humidity in a dry sauna is kept intentionally low. The warmth is dry, making the environment feel hotter and allowing you to sweat more efficiently.
The sauna operates at high temperatures, typically around 75°C (165°F). This dry heat raises your body temperature, encourages sweating, and can have numerous health benefits, such as improved circulation, muscle relaxation, and temporary relief of aches and pains. It also offers an opportunity for quiet reflection and stress reduction.
Important Usage Reminders
To preserve the sauna’s functionality and to ensure the comfort and safety of all users, we need all users to follow these essential rules:
- Do Not Pour Water on the Heater or Stones: Our sauna is designed as a dry sauna, meaning it is not intended for the generation of steam. Pouring water on the heater or stones can cause damage to the equipment and may present a safety hazard, including the risk of electric shock or malfunction.
- Do Not Use Essential Oils or Other Liquids on the Heater or Stones: Adding essential oils or other aromatic substances to the heater or stones may seem appealing, but it is strictly prohibited. Such substances can be highly flammable and may produce toxic fumes when heated. Additionally, they can cause damage to the heater and reduce its lifespan.
- Stick to the Prescribed Usage: Please use the sauna only as intended. Altering the environment by adding water, oils, or other substances interferes with the safe and proper functioning of the equipment.
